3D TV – The Hottest Item For 2010

For 2010,the 3D TV is the hottest item available on the market. In previous years, what people usually discussed when it came to new breakthroughs in gadgets were plasma televisions, liquid crystal display televisions (or LCD TV), full high definition televisions (HDTV) and also one of the newest additions to the market, the LED TV. Each television provides a great viewing experience – excellent quality of image and sounds, different features such as being physically thin, light, using LCD screens and many other features that are beneficial to the users. So why are there so many people looking forward to purchasing a 3D television?

3D movies like “Up” and “Avatar” became an instant hit to people on their release. Most theaters upgraded from regular large screen televisions to 3D TV so that they can keep up with the latest and hottest 3D movies. To give people the satisfaction of viewing 3D films in their own house, the major television manufacturers like Sony, Panasonic, Mitsubishi and JVC have already started to produce their own 3D television sets.

If you are planning to purchase a 3D TV, you must remember in order for the 3D images to work, you must also purchase some 3D glasses. 3D glasses are made from a unique glass that has the capabilities of making you see three dimensional images. 3D glasses are of two different types: the passive and the active three dimensional glasses. Passive three dimensional glasses have polarized lenses so that they can see the overlapping picture images. The active three dimensional glasses interact with the system. They do all the work from synchronization of the refresh rate of the TV to make the viewers see the three dimensional images.
Until now there is no specific pricing of the 3D televisions but we all know due to the features that they offer, they will cost a lot compared to other television models. For most people however, 3D TV is worth the cost as long as they can enjoy the 3D images in the comfort of their home.
