If LCD and LED displays are the present technologies behind today’s televisions and displays, then OLED technology is certain to be the future in this field. So why are OLED displays being hyped up so much?
The main feature of OLED TVs and displays is that they do not require a traditional backlight like conventional LCD displays do. This means that they are super energy efficient and the devices that they are used for can be made mega thin. As well as being used in televisions this makes them the perfect technology for use in laptops and mobile display devices.
It won’t be long until we see the OLED TV making an appearance in the high street stores. Once TV manufacturers have perfected their manufacturing techniques production can be scaled up making the OLED TV more attractive price-wise, and improving reliability.
