Plasma TVs have enjoyed the premium spot in the high definition TV world, but the reputation of LED TVs is growing fast. Light emitting diodes (LEDs) are being incorporated in the design of LCD TVs with stunning effect.
Currently Samsung are leading the way using LED technology to replace the fluorescent lights previously used in LCD TVs. As well as the benefits in picture quality that there use produces, they are more eco-friendly as they use less power and have eliminated some of the harmful materials because of the absence of fluorescent lights.
The price of an LED TV may be more expensive at the moment but this extra expense is counter-balanced by improved energy efficiency and extended life-span of LED based TVs when compared with conventional LCD TVs.
